Thank you from Tumblestone: Part 4: To the people, crew, artists, and volunteers who helped to make 2023 as special as it was.

Without the people behind the scenes… this thing would not happen. There are so many individuals that come together to make things happen. None of them would be possible without a bunch of help from these many folks. A team is only as good as its counterparts…and without quality parts, the ship won’t fly. It’s only possible to achieve the results we do…because of the people that have our backs. This next group of people is the reason this thing even moves, and why the engine runs true. Thank you for helping make this thing… that much better. Much love you all of you 🙂 ❤ Artists: Melody Corvid: The pieces she has made in the last few years are what kinda has carried us. This year was probably no exception. The 3 pieces made this year were a great addition to what we already had and turned out so exceptionally awesome…which made things look hella profesh, and the whole stage and its setting look so together, so fun, so vibrant, and completely off-the-wall bonkers. The pieces were arranged in a spectacular fashion, and anchored/ flanked the stage quite nicely…in a cohesive manner. Melody also headed up the volunteer Coordination for her second year, and opted to run the kitchen…She did an amazing job at both as well. There were no complaints with the system/or how it was set up/rolled out… with next to no complications over the whole course of the event. Thank you for that, what you’ve done/accomplished, and what you bring to the table. Much Love 🙂 ❤ Elgato: (Still pretty sure)…It’s Probably Milhouse. Nathan Cross: The inclusion of Nathan has brought the game to a whole other level. He is such a breath of fresh air/Inspiring to be around, and his work speaks louder than words ever could. We love what he has brought to the table over the last 2 years… and this year’s installation was just as cool as the year prior, despite having less time to prepare and produce something positively exceptional. However, what was provided did the trick for certain. It allowed us to keep the threshold high, instead of dialing it back, due to lack of time/conflicted schedules/etc.. I know your inclusion has allowed us to see (into the future) through your visions, and the possibilities of something even greater (right around the corner)..and your involvement has really added a great dynamic, a level of excellence, and a touch of class to what we already were trying to achieve/execute/improve/etc. The sculptures looked so fucking amazing and no doubt brought that pop that was needed in the location we had set them up. Thank you for doing this again, even though you were unable to attend. I can’t wait to give it another go, and do some more. When you get back… Let’s go!!! Much Love Nate 🙂 ❤ Keegan Richard: Keegan kills it again!! We love Keegan and what he has been doing for us and the scene(in general) for quite some time… He honestly is doing a big part of fully documenting the times (and the memories of this/ these times/ the bands/ the scene/ events) He is a pleasure to be around/work with/and an absolute asset/welcome member of the team. Other than being so awesome…He is attentive, has a great work ethic, is sensible, fits right in with everyone, does great work, has a great eye, and does an excellent job of capturing the event(s) as a “whole” ( without any exceptions) I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again…In the future, His work will be the map/document of what the scene was/ was like /and who was involved. The photos he captured this year were exceptional as they always are… Skillfully documented photos/compositions/moods of the event in its entirety. Thank you again Keegan for all you do… For Tumblestone. For everyone. For the future. Much Love 🙂 ❤ Rob Fournier: Rob’s got one of the greatest visionary eye when it comes to photography. I’ve said this before, and I’ll say it again…Skate Rats make the best Artists/ musicians/filmmakers/photographers/etc. The approach is straight, no bullshit… Always fresh/ bold/ exciting, and always true to form, and/or heart/ conviction/ Artistic merit/ and/or soul. …and this year was no different than that. The photos he managed to capture were absolutely fabulous, and on point with what we expect from him. He’s got mad skills, and his collections of photos/bodies of work are honestly something to behold. When he rolls up with a camera in hand… you know the magic created, will be captured in the truest/ wickedest form. It was a pleasure, and so awesome to have had Henry out here for his first real festival experience ( that he got to participate in) To see the look of wonder in his eyes/ reflected off his face was unquestionably priceless to witness…and something I will never forget. He was a great help to us, and Wax, while helping him with his preparations (in the hours prior to the set) I hope it was a special evening for him, and you as well (to be able to share that with him) Thanks, Rob… Much Love to you, and Henry 🙂 ❤ Uriel Lubuk: I love this cat so much. I miss the days of ripping shit side by side, or back and forth. You have an eye for composition/ layout unlike any other that I know. Things just look better when you are involved. It was good to have had your hands back into the fold a bit… I now know it’s the way it has to be for this to work. My work suffers when you are not a part of its process. It happens with nearly every, or every other project(s). Thank you for pinch-hitting…with the designs, website updates, and ripping some of the promo tiles when I was swamped/overstacked and had no time to finish them all. I know you have been busy…it’s why I haven’t really pressed/reached out more. I surely hope for us to do more in the near future…I without a doubt miss the bounce, and what we could do/ accomplish together. Thank you for all you have done, and bring to the table, Kid. Much Love to you, Tab, and Arlo 🙂 ❤ Ryan McKillop: We’ve got mad love for this kid as well. A super skilled multitasker, and one hell of a good guy. A truly great DJ with vast knowledge of music, a good conversationalist… and a great addition to our team, and a lot of things wouldn’t be possible without his efforts. He has helped out with so many of our web issues over the years, including a website rebuild. This year it was mostly server-related issues, backend tooling, updates/plugins/themes, and security…. And he jumped in and took care of a lot of them (if not all) His knowledge, capability, work, and style are an absolute asset to any team that he works with…and we couldn’t imagine doing this without him. Much love Ryan, We love you. Connor Mack (simply crestfallen): We were stoked to have you on board to create some art this year. Always loved your artwork, use of color, and space…but more specifically, your style… which appears to be evolving quite rapidly…but stays true to the essence at its core. You are doing great work, and it’s always exciting to see. The drafts you came up with for us were all really fun, and would have been rad to run with a few of those ideas… but the one you were sold on turned out to be an absolutely good one…which had a cool/ different feel/ little different than what we have ever done. I liked the design a lot… its layout and composition, and when scaled up to the final image size… it looked fucking fantastic. Thank you for your design. Thank you for having a hand in making this year so special. Much Love, Kid. 🙂 ❤ Adrianna Denyse: Thank you for participating and contributing to the performance art that happened throughout the festival… it was great to have you out, and doing your thing. It’s always a pleasure, and fun for all to witness. Thank you so much for any help that you gave prior to the festival, and thank you for your interest in assisting in the festival as well…on top of the performances. You opted to work in the Kitchen with Melody, and Nick… and were a big help to them throughout. I don’t know the details…but know that it was needed, and it’s 100 % appreciated. Thank you kindly for all of your help, and for all that you did to make this year what it was. Much Love to you. 🙂 ❤ Crew/Volunteers: Will Reedpath: The last couple of years have no doubt been tough for you, and your family… Yet you all braved it like champions…and have fought to find normalcy again. I am so happy that things are starting to look better for you, and your family… and that you are well on the road to healing. It was a scary thing and I was extremely nervous when we first heard word that we would not have you on the helm… It didn’t seem possible. It felt like moving forward was not an option (Nor did we want to) …But after you walked me through the proposed game plan/and how the details would be outlined/handled– Things felt like it was possible and we were willing to try. His thought(s) was to enlist the help of Mack Davis for the year, who had just recently graduated/returned from school for Sound Engineering in Toronto. Since Mack was no stranger to, and well-seasoned in Tumby (played/been involved in/attended)… and had the perfect vibe that we’d require… It would be a really good idea. (and I agreed without hesitation) This past year, we decided to include Mack as well… giving Will a chance to not be completely absorbed into the sound engineering (and be able to enjoy himself a bit) The system design/layout/arrangement was the most complex it has been in years (yet appeared small(ish) in size (compared to what we have used in the past) It was a tweaked improvement of the system that worked so well in the previous year. The arrangement of the stage/setup/and speaker array might have been the best it has ever been. Anywhere you moved to have the same/equal (crystal clear) sound. (with no dead/or hotspots anywhere (in 360) of the stage. The sound is always one of the biggest things that make these events so good. Thank you for making this year amazing (as always) and helping us get through it. Thank you for the recordings, and the mixes of the audio recorded. Thank you for everything you have done to make these the special events that they are. We Love you (and your family)…and like to thank you all for being our friends (family) 🙂 ❤ Mack Davis: Because Will needed a rest (the previous year)…we had Mack out as the primary sound engineer (with Will’s set-up/assist). Mack did a really good job throughout the weekend and all its eclectic mix of genres/styles/sound(s) …and did a great all-round engineering job. He used an analog board… which we hadn’t done in a while, did things a bit little differently, but did so with utmost clarity, and precision. Will was feeling a lot better and had felt like he could sign up as the primary again…but was open to including Mack as well. Since there was some interest in running sound at the second stage (if we were going to run it)… and was willing to “help” in some way if that wasn’t in the cards. Will had thought it might be a good idea to set back one night, and have you commanding the helm on the Friday night. The sound was beyond great…You were a pleasure for the bands, and crews to work with. It was consistently good straight through, and if there were any…you were quick to adjust/defuse any little discrepancies that might have arisen. The sound was just as good up front, as it was on the side, or behind, or into the grounds… It was eerily brilliant. You did a phenomenal job out here with the sound this year, and we are super appreciative of you, and all the love, support, and help that you have put in to make these things as special as they are. Thank you for everything Mack, and much love to you for all that you do 🙂 ❤ Bernie Wolski: Truly a stand-up dude… with a warm heart and a giant smile. Over the years he has been involved at an exponential rate and has brought so much structure and professionalism to our events. He has a vast knowledge of audio/tech/stage/performance/etc. …and has done a little of it all. This year he helped get things ready/soundcheck/tech stuff/drums tech/ manage the stage and MC… All done with enthusiasm, and a contagious positive vibe that permeated from him. Things run smoother when you are involved, I’d love nothing more than to be able to keep it that way. You did so much to make this year the best it could be, I hope you had a blast. Much Love Bernie 🙂 ❤ *Also, Thank you to all who helped Mack, Will, and Bernie …with assistance with the stage/setups/teardowns/and/or problems throughout the weekend. The ones I can remember seeing were Tony, Kennedy, and Markku, but I think there was more (almost positive)… Thank you to all who helped make things run smoother. It was/is much appreciated 🙂 ❤ They. Media & Crew: Thank you to Tony McGuire and all at They. Media… and for the film crew that came out to capture the weekend in its entirety. The Vision this year was to let the younger crew get more hands-on experience (in the heat of the moment)…while guided by Tony McGuire, with Jason Spun (from within in the trenches with them/capturing it on multiple cameras) *fixed and handheld. The footage kept piling up, and all of the weekend’s sets were filmed. …I can’t wait to see what was captured. It is an amazing thing to be able to do this. I think we (all) together/collectively have been able to encapsulate these precious and great moments in time… to showcase, and preserve these memories. You guys are extremely good at what you do, and bring a shit ton of knowledge/skills/equipment to the table…All exceptional assets to our family/team/this production, and without… none of it would be possible. I am excited about what’s on deck, and what’s in the cannon…can’t wait to be able to promote their layouts. Thank you for all that you put in to make this the best it can possibly be. Thank you for all that you do, for all of us. It will never be forgotten. Thank you to Tony McGuire, Jason Spun, Brandon Rodeghiero, and anyone who was repping They. at this year’s event. Thank you all for all you put in this year to be able to capture that moment in time. Thank you for what you bring to this movement, and for your time, support, and involvement. Much Love to all of you…From All of us 🙂 ❤ Bevs & Intrepid Grand Inc.: Thank you for being a part of this thing over the years. It means a lot to have your support/a part of (this event). It is important for us to have quality lighting at our events, and you’ve always been a big part of the reason for that. Although the system/setup differs from year to year… it still has the same general vibe and feel that one would expect us to have (but in a slightly different flavor)*depending on the year. Each setup has continuously grown (except when availability was scarce/double/triple booked) The setup this year was a bigger/ newer LED system which was intense to witness..and quite different to the coloured “beam” lighting that we’ve had variations of over the last few years…It gave the stage a different look than anticipated…but not for the worse, by any means. It was a beautiful behemoth of a lighting rig/setup… that blew a lot of minds, I’m sure. Scotty was a champ all weekend, and went over and above to make sure everything was hella dope (from the look/set up/during the performances…and worked like a demon all weekend long. The stage looked absolutely gorgeous, and created a mood that can’t be beat!!! Can’t thank you enough Scotty… Much Love to you, Intrepid Grand Inc. and its team…for all they did to make this event what it was/is. You are vital to our system, and we like to acknowledge that… and thank you guys for continually being a part of this. Much Love 🙂 ❤ Eva: Anytime you are involved with anything…things get done, better. If you find anything isn’t working properly…You will address it, and adapt to/and/or with (without hesitation) The door is always an issue, and having you there ensures that things will be in check/ not go awry, and/or unseen. You are truly an exceptional person, that goes way above expectations…to ensure that everything is perfect..and the list is most likely too lengthy to be illiterate. That being said… One thing I need to address is my gratitude to you for ensuring that we eat in the days prior to…by means of a feast that you prepare for the hungry bellies of our rushing/overworked volunteers (trying to finish last-minute setups/ jobs needing completion) Without your offering, I have the feeling we would most likely starve otherwise (as we are too busy to even think about food) Thank you for all that you are and everything you do 🙂 ❤ Sue: It was a pleasure to have you here with us, this year. It was crazy to find out in the few days before…that you were coming. Nes and I were ecstatic to have you come home for a few days, spend some time together, and was able to have had that shared experience with you. With you being in Toronto…those times are too few (these days) I am stoked you got to immerse yourself in what’s been going on (as of late) with our local scene/music/art of. I’m sure you got to get to know/familiarize yourself with a few of them for sure. I hope it was a lot of fun for you. Thank you for all your help throughout your stay with us, and during this event. Thank you for all the help. It was a fun visit, and I know it was extra special for Nes to have you here…to hold, to laugh with, to dance, and to have an experience with. Thank you for all the sunshine that you brought. Much Love Q 🙂 ❤ Curtis & Kerry: Again, This duo is one hell of an asset to the family, and/or team… and has the skills/what it takes for anything. They kill it at whatever they are doing…and they brought the same enthusiasm this year. We love this pair a lot and are proud to call them friends/ family/kindred. They always help out immensely over the weekend, whether it is working the door, or the grounds, tucking things away/ relocating remaining piles of wood/ quickly cleaning up the clutter in concession/ lock-up /and around the buildings/etc. ….as well as lining/ painting/ trying to finish my larger art piece (in the last hours prior to the festival’s start) …which I tried my best to finish in the final days, but couldn’t get done. She spent a few hours on it, figuring she could complete it (but sadly there was too much to do to the piece to have it done, and ready to be put up (it was super close, but no cigar) We can’t thank them for their efforts, love, help, and support. Thanks a ton for all that you did…Much Love to you both 🙂 ❤ Nick Smith: Fairly new to Tumblestone, but was a good friend of Melody’s so he offered again to help in any way that he could. This year he opted to work the kitchen, and did so both nights. He was a great person to be there…as he has the skills, and he immediately fit in with everyone he was working with. He again went always went over and beyond to help wherever needed, and whatever needed to be done. We can’t thank you enough for that. BIG MONEY… much love to you. Thank you for offering, and the lending of supplies that were needed. Thank you for going over and above expectations…Your help is greatly appreciated. Thank you for all that you did to help make this year as special as it was Much Love Nick. 🙂 ❤ James & Julie: Thank you James & Julie for all your help this year. The door is the hardest to get volunteers for, and especially later into the evening. It’s also one of the most important. You guys did great, and were a big help to us considering not many wanted to bite at these later night shifts… But needed to be covered. So stoked you two were willing to be posted at the gate/table. Thank you, and Much love to you two 🙂 ❤ Steph & John: Thank you to these two…who came through last year, when we needed the help… and this year they both offered to come back and help us with one of our most important tasks…which is the door. It is crucial to have things go smoothly at the door. It’s always a pleasure to have someone like you two, have that on lockdown. It means a lot that have that support. I hope you got to enjoy yourselves as well (when you weren’t up there) Thank you so much for all your help… Much Love, from all of us 🙂 ❤ Sarah Dibiagio and Brent Hendry: These two offered to help out for the first time this year, and agreed to work the door for a block. This was their first time working the door, and they nailed it. They were great up there, they greeted each guest (with a smile) as they arrived… were super courteous, and did a terrific job dealing with, helping out, and answering any questions that would arise. Thank you kindly for coming out/ offering/ becoming a member of this year’s team. Thank you for all that you did to help and for all that you brought to the team. Much love to you both 🙂 ❤ Alex Hudyma and Katelin Hogard: Alex is simply amazing…as is her husband Erik (who was stuck working out of town)…Two of the sweetest you could ever meet. They truly embody the spirit of Tumblestone, and every year we see them roll up with smiles on their faces, and bells on… to do whatever is needed. Whether it’s working the gate/grounds/carpentry/merch/feeding peeps in the morning/ other/etc…and/or whatever is thrown their way. This year Alex still wanted to help regardless of Erik not being here. She brought in her friend Katelin to help her, help us… She was willing to assist in any way that she could… and because Alex was into doing the breakfast thing…it only made sense to have them work together. Alex had planned out a breakfast, and was to take control of that station (as they had in previous years)… and be there to offer something to anyone that wanted/needed. Together they holed up for a few hours, feeding anyone who rolled up. Thank you so much to Alex (and Erik) for all that they do, and we love you for all you do to help keep this thing so special. 🙂 ❤ Thank you to Katelin for coming out, and offering to join, and help Alex with the breakfast. It was nice to have met you…usually, I’m better with names…but it’s all kind of a blur. 😉 Thank you for all the help, and for all that you did. Much love to you 🙂 ❤ Debbie: What a journey that must have been… just to make it back this year. I was told you were working Thursday (in B.C.) and driving here right after your shift. …putting you at Tumblestone on Saturday sometime. I thought you were bananas for even wanting to do it… but was so glad to see you, and it was a pleasure to hang out a bit. I hope it was worth it, and hope you had a blast. You’re always an amazing help throughout the whole weekend, no matter where you get posted. (Gate/Merch/Concession/Other) Just having you “home” with us…Makes things that much better/feel better. I hope you got a chance to enjoy a good block of the performances this year, and made some memories. Thank you kindly from all of us, for all your help. It was such a warm surprise, and the time spent together was a pleasure as always. Much Love and well wishes to you…until we dance again 🙂 ❤ Deidra: Thank you Deidra for all that you did to help out his year. She was willing to help out, in the days leading up to Tumblestone… and came out to do a few things… she did a bunch of various things throughout the time spent, and took care of some much-needed seating prep/set up for us. Thank you for all that. During the festival, she opted to work at the door and did so with Dave Murray. They did an amazing job, and were a pleasure to have at the door…greeting people as they rolled in. Thank you for your help. Much love, Deidra. 🙂 ❤ Dave Murray: Thank you for helping out prior to the festival…digging trenches, burying lines, and clearing the roads of sticks, rocks, bumps, and such. It means a lot to have the extra help in those hours just before start time. Thanks. Thank you for also taking up a station with Deidra, and working the door. You two did a great job, and was a pleasure to have you there, Much love, Dave. 🙂 ❤ Brad & Emma (and Lorissa & Mariah): Always a massive help and a welcome part of the team… No matter where they were posted at, and what they were doing. The amount of “last-minute” things to get done was immense… and couldn’t have been done if it wasn’t for you two (the girls, Kim, and others) The final week before was intense and non-stop…The amount of things completed over the short amount of time we had…was completely unbelievable. You came through huge for us and helped manage the seemingly unmanageable. If it wasn’t for your help, the event couldn’t have happened…and we’d still be out there trying. (Hahaha) The girls were also a big help at the merch booth and did a really good job holding down the fort/slinging T’s/etc. Y’all did a great job as always, and we can’t thank you enough. Earlier on I had heard about mumbles about a fun project that would give the old VW BUG a facelift, and the area around it… a little more spirit. I wasn’t opposed, and unsure what was planned, how it’d happen, who was doing it…and when it would fit into the long list of things we were already doing. One day the grinding and sanding commenced, and by the end of the day it was stripped and ready for paint. (which I thought was quite the feat)…But was only a few days away, and thought that there was probably no way to get it painted before showtime. I was wrong… by the time I got around to that side of the yard (the following day)…It was completely painted white. Which was quite shocking to see as I rounded the bend and first laid eyes on it. The day after that the whole lot of you completely transformed that VW into the little classic looking Hippy mobile…that looked brimming with positive vibes, and laid-back feels. What a treat! It looked fantastic…and was loved by many. I couldn’t list the things you guys did, as they were too numerous to recollect. Thank you for everything you did to help, and all you brought to the festival. Much Love from all of us. 🙂 ❤ Kim: Thank you Kim for all your hard work throughout the weeks leading up to the festival/ during/ and after. You were a super addition to the team…and took on/finished so many tasks that were needed to get done, jobs no one wanted to do…and ones found/created…and finished(ones that we hadn’t even thought about doing, prior to) You were a pleasure to be around, work with, or just chat with, and worked well with others/solo/and in the lead. Your work ethic is on point, and your stamina, attention to detail(s), and the ability to instinctively look outside the box…to get things done. You did a little bit of everything, and got a lot of tasks completed. ..which we couldn’t be more appreciative of. I won’t go and list them for it’s too great, and I’m sure I don’t even know all) 😉 Much love, and respect for what you did to help us be able to do that thing. Thanks for being a part of it, and for every single thing that you did to make this year what it was. 🙂 ❤ Mike & Cathy: Thank you for all that you two did, during, and the weeks prior to. In the weeks/days/hours before… obviously, there is a lot going on… and with all that stuff happening we need to get the final grades down, and everything smooth, and in order for the weekend’s traffic… On top of that we are forced to work around trailers/campers coming in (to look for a spot to set up) *this is constant in the final week… and Mike gets hammered with it all. One that really makes all that possible. Without him, none of this would be what it is. During the festival, you two did a great job at your chosen posting. The station you manned…is one of our most important (especially to keep things secure/safe) …and was hella stoked to hear that’s where you want to be stationed. You two did a great job and made sure things were running super smoothly. I can’t thank you enough for that…Thank you both, and much love obviously 🙂 ❤ Joel & Laurie: These two have helped so much over the years… and we love them like family. They are both so kind, generous, and a real treat to be around. They are shiny beacons of love, and fun (and at Tumblestone…the whole weekend through) A non-stop gas the entire time. Both have great work ethics, moral codes, and sensibility. They are well-organized and operate with compassion/dedication/pride (without hesitation). This year they helped out a lot in the weeks before /just before/ during / and following, and we couldn’t be more grateful. We are lucky to have them with us. They are both an irreplaceable part of the team. This year they both pulled huge weight… and did so much more than expected. Thank you for every single thing you two did… It means a lot. Much Love to you both, for all you do 🙂 ❤ Jason Cain: Jay, you are always an MVP, and truly an asset to the team. The things you can do are nothing short of amazing, and the things you do for us mean the world ( to all of us). We are eternally grateful. You have zero time, yet put in a lot to help us get things ready for showtime, and that just goes to show the caliber of person you are. You are a salt-of-the-earth person, with a heart of gold. It’s funny…the gig you hate the most is roofing…yet two of the tasks that you chose to do were exactly that, and one was not easy at all. That one being… finishing the roof on the owl, which has been longly on our minds. It’s finally done!!! The watershed is complete, and we’re golden. On top of that the floors that you and Woodsy added turned that baby into something awesome and usable, instead of it just being a hollow and unusable space. Another thing that has been a long time in the making, and needed/wanted… but couldn’t. Fucking Stellar!! The owl has had many changes over the years, and this year it had more life to it. And with last year’s stain… looks even better than the day it was born. (*Wait, maybe not…hard to top the excitement of it being made, and the first time we got to unveil it. It’s ready for the spotlight once again. As if that wasn’t enough…without hesitation, you jumped on the roof of the fridge house, and got that done…long-ass slow clap for you bud, Cheers!! Love you, Jay 🙂 ❤ Woodsy: It was awesome to have you out during a few of the build days. It was a pleasure to spend a few days with you, hang out, catch up, bro down, etc….and we surely made excellent use of our time together. Your help was positively righteous and greatly appreciated. You and Jay murdered those floors, and they turned out great. This build has been a big one… and you helped to make it last. We won’t need to worry about doing that again for a long, long time (*if ever). Thanks for being a part of that, and helping make it happen. *(Roadhouse) Much Love, Woodsy 🙂 ❤ Mitch: It was nice to see you back out after a few years away (for work) It was a pleasure to party with you once more…always a delight. And was a super bonus to get some builds checked off our list. You killed both larger tasks (that you chose to tackle) Both were equally important and continuously got shuffled to the side (due to other more urgent tasks (at that moment) The bunk bed was perfectly built, in no time flat (solo) with no assistance required. (*Exactly what was needed ) and the unit looked great and did exactly what it needed to. The kids loved it as well. The main gate base structure installation was another thing that you nailed for us (without assistance) and built exactly what was needed. The structure was rock solid. It made the cladding so much easier, and the final result was perfect. In a short period of time, you checked off two headache-causing tasks that were on our list…freeing us up to continue with our other battles. Thanks so much, Mitch… Much love to you 🙂 ❤ Markku: Everything’s better with this kid around. He always is willing to get things done, when he is able to…and in the days before the festival. He did whatever it took to lend a hand in whatever he could help with…and continued to help do/with anything that needed to be done prior to our start time. There were many things completed, and minor construction-type projects which required a skilled workforce to get things done properly/quickly. Thanks for everything you did to ease the load. Love you bud 🙂 ❤ Jordan & Brenna: Thank you to Jordan & Brenna for coming out multiple times…willing to help with whatever we needed them to do. Since we had a long list of things to do/ put together/move/clean/organize and locate… Just kept feeding them stuff to do off the top of my head…that we hadn’t yet got around to getting to. They did everything without issues, working together to overcome any obstacles they faced…without asking for help, and just working through each problem until it was completed. Thank you kindly to the two of you, Much Love 🙂 ❤ Spenser & Chrissy: This was the first year for these two…and I must say they embodied the spirit straight from the get-go. They showed up early in the final week to get their first look at the grounds, and familiarize themselves with the grounds, and all that were here. After a walkaround, to scope where to set up for the weekend… they went straight to work helping out wherever needed… and continued to do so until well after dark. The next day they came out again, and for the next week… they came out as much as they could to help out as much as possible. These two worked their asses off steadily, and were a great hand in a lot of the last-minute groundwork/cleanup/setup, or anything that was needed. They put in many hours, without hesitation or questioning even the most seemingly insignificant tasks. It didn’t matter to them. With their assistance things were constantly getting done, and as they finished one task after another…they moved on to whatever tasks were next/on hand, and so on and so forth. We would not have got so much stuff done without your help. We can’t thank you enough. It was a pleasure to meet you two, and we hope you felt the love. So much Love to you two, from all of us 🙂 ❤ Brian Edwards: Thank you for all you do for us. We must acknowledge all the good that you do for the neighborhood, for all that you do for it, and the pride you have for it. We can not thank you enough for agreeing again to join us, and help us keep all our friends safe…It means a lot that you care to help us do this. Over the years you have helped ensure the safety and well-being of our friends, and family. Whether it’s suited with on-the-ground presence, or based from a “First Aid Station” or what we did this year…being On-Call/24hrs./All Weekend long. It all assures us that we were a little safer, prepared, and had plans to execute if needed. By working remotely/On Call/being able to move freely back and forth…must have been a little easier/non-exhausting, and assured that you were fresh in case of an emergency. There was only one incident that could have been an issue… and you swooped in at the drop of a dime… to assess the situation. We couldn’t be happier that you have our backs and our guests well being in mind. You are a welcome part of the team, and we feel so much more prepared for anything with you at our side. Much Love Brian 🙂 ❤ Tigerland Clan: Thank you to the members of the Tigerland Clan: Mayk, Dave, and Deirdra… for the help in the days leading up to the festival time. There was a long list of things to do, in the days leading up to the festival… and anything I didn’t have to physically do myself was a killer bonus, and was a step in the direction of getting things done. They assisted in many tasks in the time spent out here prior to the weekend. Thank you for all the help… Much appreciation to all of you. 🙂 ❤ Thirsty Monk Crew: This Crew finds ways to help, even when not asked. Each one of them has a giant heart, and is always willing to lend a hand at every chance… and being around them it becomes quickly apparent that they are salt-of-the-earth type folk…willing to help in any way that they can. I honestly can’t even think of all the ways that that lot of them helped out, and for everything they did (*combined) …It’s truly uncountable. This year was no different. They did more than they had signed up for, and usually had a hand in whatever was needed. Thank you for being so great to us/ so kind/ so generous. So much love to all of you. We can’t thank you enough 🙂 ❤ Forever Dead Crew: Thank you to Jesse and Jorge, (and the rest of FD!) …for always being so cool. Thank you kindly for the use of your monitors/speakers… which was really a key to Will’s visions of the full-encompassing 360 sound design, and which helped to ensure the best sound possible for the band, and crowds around and/or behind the stage. This worked into the Stage Set-up has completely raised the bar, sounded absolutely incredible, and allowed for the best configuration/dispersion of sound… that beamed out equally no matter where you were located. This may not have been possible (easily arranged/equal to) without the addition of that gear that you provided. So thank you kindly for that, and much love to you all 🙂 ❤ Vanessa & Cinema 5 Skatpark / Female Boarder Collective, and volunteers: Not only did they come in as a sponsor… they also came out and offered to run our merch booth, and helped out in various ways. They together, clocked a huge amount of time in our Merch Area… Helping us with interactions/transactions for garments, and other merch items. They did an amazing job and kept the concession open as late as possible. Thank you for the usage of the square… Like I said earlier, it was a game changer. Thank you for all that, and everything you had done for us over the course of the weekend. It means a lot. I hope you had a great time. Much Love to you, and for all your help 🙂 ❤ Sarah Hakala: It’s always a welcome addition to have you out, doing something. Over the years there have been many different stations/tasks… and you have excelled at every single one of them… Especially manning the merch booth/ concession. You are pleasant to be around, and worked well with dealing with the people that wanted some merch. You have an attention to detail, and can follow a set plan… and are willing to help where you can. Regardless of what you wanted and/or didn’t want to do…Was just fine by us. But if you were into it… we wanted you there. I know I saw you very early morning to prep the coffee, and assisted Kim as she rose early to get a jump start on it, and then proceeded to manage the Morning booth, and dealing with people, and taking orders. Thank you for doing that, and thank you again for all that you did, your participation, and all that you added to the team. Much Love, Sarah 🙂 ❤ Scotty Dunbar: Another First year pledgeling that exceeded expectations. Originally From BC, but now residing here. He wanted to help out this year, and lent a hand wherever he was needed. He was a pleasure to be around, and it was nice to get to meet him./spend some time getting to know him. Thank you for all your help at the merch booth, other areas… and for all that you did to help us out. Thanks, Scotty, Much love to you 🙂 ❤ Linda & Rick: These two usually work a vendor booth for Melodies In Motion. This year they wanted to help out, and did so in the kitchen area, as well as other things throughout the weekend. They were are great help wherever they were posted up…and always a pleasure around. Thank you kindly for all that you did to help make Tumblestone 2023 what it was. Much love, to you both. 🙂 ❤ Family & Friends: Much love to our family and friends. Immediate, and extended. New, and old. Thank you so much to all/anyone who chooses to be a part of this thing…whether it’s via support/ volunteering/ attending our events/ and/or belief. It means so much to have that love. Like every year…It was amazing to see all the beautiful smiling faces of the ones that we have grown to love and our family (immediate/ sworn in/ and new). When you get the best of the best all in one place…the ingredients are there for something a little more special, and the feeling of that is not normally(easily) felt. You can call it what you will. Friendship, family, community, loved ones, or spirits… Kindred souls speak loudly without words, and when together…existential movements can happen, and these special moments in time will be etched among the stones of these lives we are living. The company you keep should inspire. If it doesn’t… do something to make it so. Extend your horizons, think outside the box, welcome new friends into your hearts, or find something in each person in your life that does inspire you. We love each of our family and friends for what/who you are. We are better off having you in our lives. Much Love to all, and Thank you for caring, being there, and/or just showing up). 🙂 ❤ Nes/ family/ My family: It is because of our loved ones that these things even happen. Without their help in life in general as well as for Tumblestone … None of it would be possible. Each one means the world to me and I couldn’t have the strength to do the things I do without the love and support that I am blessed with. That gives me the power to fight harder for what I believe in, and for the things I need to do… to make this festival happen, or anything that I take on. My life is so much better with all of them in it. (each for different reasons) But all so very cherished and dear to my heart. I must thank every one of you for every single thing that you do to help, and/ or support. I love you all for everything that you are, who you are, and what you do. I could go on and on, and be more specific…But where do I even start? /and when would it end? This letter has already gotten enormously long…and you all know how I feel. ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ 🙂 ❤ …*And now to wrap it up. Wrap Up: We owe everything to anyone who has helped in any way. There is so much to do to make this thing a success… every hand/every bit of support makes this that much easier for us to achieve/ facilitate our plans/and reach our goals (or as many as possible) Even though all/each of most of these things went very well, or fairly decent… it was still not quite good enough to call it a complete success. *But it did feel that way…even after the dust settled. Despite all of our actions, and/or wins…We are at the point to begin (once more)…to make the reach to be able to start anew. With not much to thrust us into another year…We shall double our efforts yet again to be in a better position to continue. We do have some leftover stock from the small run we did for Tumblestone, and a smallish run around Xmas…These will be available at some point soon. …Random/Various designs/sizes/colors//garments which will be going to help us raise whatever we can to try to make up a little of what is needed. Because these runs were small, and we had no time to launch a proper campaign before the festival, and/or at Xmas… we’ll soon be offering a follow-up run for anyone who might have missed it/couldn’t afford it (or at the time)/and/or did not have the right size/color/garment that was needed. If we will have a good future… This drive will be the key to making a good start. We need all the help we can get… We are forced to start from scratch year after year, and build the best that we can with the resources we can muster up to work with. We could easily use more help in every kind of way… If you would like to help us make these/this thing as good as possible, and think that you would be an asset to the team, and have something to add… *Please get in contact with one of us, and let us know. Keep your eyes peeled for more details about this year, our campaigns, memberships, special events/content/etc. Please support initiatives, and share (if you can)… it might just make the difference, and we’ll be able to dance another day. Thank you to all who attended this year, attended fundraisers, participated in campaigns, shared info, and /or supported us in any way. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We love you all, and look forward to the next time we can be together 🙂 ❤ Did I say thank you? *If I happen to forget anyone in the above, Call me on it… and I’ll make sure to add you in, and give you the credit you deserve. Thank you 🙂 ❤
