The Tumblestone Collective is a group of volunteers, artists, and musicians dedicated to promoting music and arts in the Thunder Bay area through our festival, Tumblestone.

Our festival began in 2011 as a small pig roast with friends and family, growing into the region’s “Best Annual Festival” (TBshows Fan Choice Awards) several years running. Normally held at the end of August, it’s become a 2-day, multi-genre music/arts festival that showcases musicians, visual artists, films, other multi-media and alternative performances.

The festival is held in Gorham, ON (20 minutes north of Thunder Bay), and is named after its rocky terrain. Our eclectic programming is reflected in our increasingly diverse audience, ranging from young families to seniors.

Tumblestone has showcased 142 acts (one time, or more) consisting of 195+ musicians, amounting to 238 festival performances and 129 event performances…totaling 361 performances across the festival and various fundraiser/special events held throughout the years. Our focus has always been on our local acts, and we pride ourselves on featuring the highest number of local/ underrepresented/New Generation artists on stage compared to other Thunder Bay festivals.

We strongly support new generation artists and those that don’t fit into genre specific lineups, and we have done what we can to support artists that struggle in our remote region of Northern Ontario, with little to no access to opportunities for their respective niches.

We have always gone for broke, and did whatever we could to help the artists/the bands/musicians/the scene, and community of Thunder Bay. As our opportunities grow, we will continue our outreach… and pay that forward to the acts that share our beliefs/goals, fit our criteria and need/demand attention.
